Proverbs 3

Hi All!

So today in Proverbs 3, there was a lot on living a wise and fulfilling life. It emphasized trusting in the Lord with all your heart & not relying solely on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) By acknowledging God in all your ways, He will guide your paths. (Proverbs 3:6) … Idk about you but… that used to be quite the struggle for me at times… Only because trying to get ahead of things or being in control felt like the only way I could know things would get done a certain way… but then once you let go and let God, you get used to that REAL peace of knowing you don’t have to be the one running the show and it’ll all work out because the man above is handling it and He’s working in your favor. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

The chapter also speaks against being wise in your own eyes and encourages fearing the Lord and turning away from evil (Proverbs 3:7) Doing those things will bring health and nourishment.

It highlights the importance of generosity, honoring the Lord with your wealth, and the blessings that come through them. Wisdom and understanding are spoken of as more precious than silver or gold, offering long life, peace, and happiness (Proverbs 3:14).

Lastly, the chapter mentions the importance of discipline and correction from the Lord as acts of love (Proverbs 3:12)… That can be hard to accept, but if you’re a parent, older sibling, or in any position where you just care about someone in a similar dynamic… you know exactly what that’s like.

I feel like that’s the chapter pretty summed up, but just to really break it down, here are the general themes of it:

1. **Trust and Faith in God**: Emphasizes the importance of trusting God fully and not relying solely on one’s own understanding.

2. **Wisdom and Understanding**: Highlights the value of wisdom and understanding, portraying them as essential for a prosperous and happy life.

3. **Obedience and Discipline**: Stresses the significance of obeying God’s commandments and accepting His discipline as expressions of His love.

4. **Generosity and Honor**: Encourages honoring God with oneโ€™s wealth and being generous, which leads to blessings.

5. **Humility and Reverence**: Advises against arrogance and emphasizes fearing the Lord as a path to health and prosperity.

These things will guide us towards living a balanced and spiritually aligned life <3

Do you ever struggle with releasing control?
