Hi All!
Keeping with the proverbs “challenge”, today i read Proverbs 21 <3
One of the very first things i got from this chapter is that you may think that you’re doing the right thing in some circumstances but ultimately the Lord makes the call on whether or not that’s the case because He knows your innermost thoughts and heart even more than you yourself may. [Proverbs 21:2]
Honestly, when i read that and took it in, i was kind of thinking ‘Dang that sucks’ because I wouldn’t want to keep doing something thinking I’m going about it in the right way but He’s looking down at me like ‘Naaah that’s not it’… BUT since he does know our hearts I realize that He’d know that I’m just ignorant on the matter and not hold it against me… Praise the Lord for that 🙌🏽 😆 and amen to a just and forgiving God. He’s sure to give you insight as to what the truth is.
again, i’ll just straight add my notes below so that i don’t have to touch on absolutely everything i learned but more-so speak on what stood out to me because yet again… there’s sooo many lessons in this chapter.
When i look over the chapter in broad strokes, i notice that it has a lot to do with finances and the proper use of them… It also repeats that women shouldn’t be argumentative or controversial lol. So to that I’ll just say ladies… we can’t be out here nagging… and that’s “on God”.
Here are the key things i learned about finances along the way paired with the verse i learned it from:
- Don’t rush it… You reap the benefits when you work hard and put care and thought into that work. Rushing it will have you … well 🤷🏽♀️ broke. [proverbs 21:5]
- dishonest ways of getting wealth will lead to destruction. [Proverbs 21:6]
- Don’t ignore the needs of the poor because you just might end up in the same boat. [Proverbs 21:13]
- Have the right motives when you give! [Proverbs 21:14]
- Don’t do things excessively. All things should be done in moderation and when they’re not, it can lead to being poor (Money or spirit?) [Proverbs 21:17]
- The wise use money/wealth properly but foolish people blow their money and splurge. [Proverb 21:20]
- Work for your desires. don’t be lazy. [Proverbs 21:25]
- Be a giver. don’t be stingy with your ‘coins’. [Proverbs 21:26]
- Sacrifices mean nothing if you have ill intentions. (Ex. If you’re sacrificing and just thinking of the benefits you’ll get from the sacrifice… No good) [Proverbs 21:27]
I know that people interpret things in their own ways so if you got anything different from any of the scriptures please feel free to give your insight and view on it.
Although Proverbs 21 does have a lot on finances and how they should be handled, there’s also PLENTY more lessons throughout the chapter so i encourage you to read it for yourself and take notes!! Again, maybe even share the other things that you learned 💕
