Hi All!
As you can tell by both the title and the day… today i read Proverbs 27. While of course there are multiple things i could touch on, I think due to personal life circumstances I’d like to focus on how it says that if you truly love your friend, you’ll give them positive criticism as opposed to just staying silent when you clearly see something they’re doing isn’t benefit them. [Proverbs 27:5]
The reason why the verses pertaining to giving those you love constructive criticism stands out to me currently, is I’ve actually been debating on whether or not i should tell my friend about what I’ve been seeing is causing her pain in her daily life. (If poked at it in round about ways but have been far from direct) From the outside looking in, it seems clear what’s been keeping her stagnant, but I haven’t wanted to hurt her feelings or come off as judgmental in any way… [Proverbs 27:17]
Now after reading Proverbs 27:5-6, I see that me just letting her keep repeating the cycle out of fear of hurting her feelings and thinking I’m just giving her the space to figure it out for herself isn’t the right route to take… the Godly and loving thing to do is to speak up… However, I need to make sure that I do it in the right situation at the right time. [Proverbs 27:14]
So I’m definitely happy this was the chapter for today because I’ve been battling with this for quite some time and I’ve now gotten my answer 💕 Please pray for me to have the wisdom to come about the conversation in the most loving and receivable way possible.
What stood out to you in this chapter?
Side-note: Yet again… the Lordt said don’t you be out her nagging 😂 [Proverbs 27:15] He is not playing around about that in the SLIGHTEST!!! bahahahahahah
